Face-to-Face with the Federal Market: Media Conversion, PoE and Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream
Besides debating where the gal from Minnesota can find the best southern food and bourbon pecan ice cream in Augusta, Transition Networks’ fiber solutions were highly regarded amongst several individuals that attended the Fort Gordon Federal Technology Expo on October 19th 2016.
As an Inside Sales Representative, I spend most of my time communicating with potential customers over the phone or via email, so I’m always excited to get the chance to travel and visit with customers face-to-face!
During the show, the expo hall was filled with exhibitors offering everything from Secure Communications to Cloud Computing. Our message to the audience of the expo focused on the advantages of extending current network infrastructure with fiber technology through our solutions. We displayed some of our popular equipment at the table which gave visitors a first-hand look at the high quality and design of our products.
While many were very familiar with our small form factor mini-media converters and office-grade PoE devices, our temperature-hardened PoE converters and switches were hot topics at the event as several weren’t familiar with this offering from us!
Mercom Corporation, one of our Value-Added-Resellers for the Federal market, shared a table with us at the Expo. Together we were able to talk about where our solutions may fit into a specific application within a project and where Mercom was able to provide solutions for the project in its entirety.
Overall the show was a great opportunity for me to go out and meet some of our customers and potential customers face-to-face plus gain some valuable experience in one of our largest customer markets, the Federal market! I am looking forward to my next opportunity to travel with Transition Networks be it an event, social gathering, or simply an office visit.
