- When I use the uplink port on my switch, Port #1 gets disabled. What happened?
Answers: Is there a maximum number of switch counts? - Since switches segment Collision Domains, there isn't a limited number of switch counts.
Which technique of switching do MiLAN switches support? What is the difference between a hub and a switch?- A hub re-amplifies signals evenly to all its ports; whereas, a switch only routes the signals to the port where it remembers the device's location or MAC address.
When I use the uplink port on my switch, Port #1 gets disabled. What happened?- The uplink port is Port #1, but with uncrossed wires instead (MDI). If you take a look at the MIL-S3120, you can see that there is a line connecting Port #1 and the uplink port together. On the MIL-S3130XX, the uplink port is the same as Port #7.
