Marketing Positions
Product Manager
PURPOSE: Manages the development, launch and lifecycle of the assigned product line(s) with overall accountability for its profit/loss contribution.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Lifecycle planning/management of assigned product line(s).
  2. Identify market trends and develop business case for new product development.
  3. Interact with the manufacturing organization to ensure timely delivery of product and help resolve production issues as necessary.
  4. Identify and communicate market needs effectively to engineering organization for new product development, product enhancements and cost-reductions.
  5. Interface with other marketing department members to deliver quality reseller tools, effective pull programs and ongoing sales support
  6. Management of OEM suppliers where appropriate
  7. Articulate product positioning and value proposition to the sales organization and assist to formulate responses to Request For Proposals (RFP) and provide competitive, project based pricing as necessary.
  8. Maintain technical product expertise and serve as product resource and market expert to internal organization
  9. Provide day-to-day product management oversight to internal organization and external partners regarding pricing, promotion, and sales distribution activities; and manage product training.
  10. Develop whitepapers, case studies and application notes that discuss new technologies or solutions for media conversion products.
  11. Represent Transition Networks when traveling to tradeshows, customer seminars, and customer meetings, both domestically and internationally.
  12. Responsible for forecasting and inventory of assigned product lines.
  13. Develop presentations for TN Now trainings and conduct live, on-line TN Now seminars.
  14. Produce timely, relevant contributions to TN’s social media website.
  15. Study competitive products and pricing and develop appropriate sales tools to help the sales force sell against the competition.

Work Experience / Educational Requirements

  • BS degree in business or engineering; Masters Degree preferred. Knowledge of data networking industry, service provider networks and fiber optics preferred 2 to 5 years product management experience required
