Customer Service Representative
PURPOSE: The customer service representative assists the Account Managers/Sales Representatives in the day-to-day operations of processing the Company’s orders and servicing the needs of the customer base.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as point of contact for customers.
- Resolve customer problems, respond to customer requests.
- Responsible for sales order entry and expediting.
- Coordinate the order process with the rest of the company departments, especially accounting, shipping and manufacturing
- Generate internal work orders for conversion purposes for international and domestic shipments.
- Support sales calls for product availability and pricing.
- Generate invoices to customers who need reprints of invoices.
- Support the shipping department in processing shipments, moving inventory, customs, documentation, FedEx, and UPS shipments.
- Log incoming CRA’s for stock rotations and order errors (customer service, shipping, and customer).
- Generate shipping orders for all CRA shipments and order error replacements.
- Communicate on a daily basis with customer regarding order transactions and status.
- Back up for receptionist.
Nature and Scope:
- Typically reports to Customer Support Manager.
- No direct responsibilty for supervising others.
Environmental Job Requirements:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: - Thorough understanding of order management and customer service activities.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of shipping processes and requirements (domestic and international).
- Fluent with MS Office Windows applications.
- Demonstrated history of success with customer relations.
- Strong ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities at once.
- Strong ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Fluent oral and written English communication skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Education Required: High school diploma or GED
- Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2
- Physical Job Requirements: Work is fast paced and repetitive in nature; constant phone and computer keying. Work is sedentary with ample opportunity to move about the office. Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to use computer key board and mouse.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or Bachelor's degree
- Foreign language skills
